    BSN graduates continued to be more like- ly to provide care to newborns (16.9% BSN vs. 11.4% ADN, X2(1) = 4.7, p<.03), and ADN graduates were more likely to report caring for the elderly aged 65 to 85 (ADN 64.6% vs. BSN 53.2%, X2(1) = 10.1, p<.001) and elderly over 85 years old (ADN 19.6% vs. BSN 13.4%, X2(1) = 5.02, p<.02). The differences found between the two groups in the care of infants/children (one month to 12 years of age) and young adults aged 19 to 30 in the 1999 (Smith & Crawford, 2002) study were not repeated in the current study.

    Since 1994, more than 2.4 million U.S. candidates for nurse licensure have taken the NCLEX® exam via computerized adaptive testing (CAT). The Learning Extension currently offers 35 online courses, reaching more than 134,000 nurses in 120 countries since its inception in 1998. Over the last three years, nearly 63,000 nurse licensure candidates in 10 countries have taken the NCLEX abroad. NCSBN® welcomed its first international associate member in 2008. The NCSBN Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program has awarded more than $4.1 million in grants.
