This graphic shows the shared and independent number of tasks that each of these skills underlies. For example, there were 70 tasks that all 3 of the skills were found to be necessary or essential for. However, there were an add ...

Prescribed opioids such as codeine, fentanyl, morphine, methadone, oxycodone, meperi- dine, hydromorphone, hydrocodone, propoxyphene, and buprenorphine all have the potential for misuse. These products may be swallowed, injected, nasally inhaled, smoked, chewed, or used as suppositories (19). The onset and intensity of effect will vary based on how the drug was taken and the formulation; however, all have the potential for causing respiratory depression, overdose, and death. The risk of respiratory depression, overdose, and death is greater for full opioid agonists (such as fen- tanyl) than for partial agonists (such as buprenorphine).

So that was the situation prior to COVID. Now, I don't think anyone can really give a talk these days without talking about COVID-19 and the pandemic and the impact that it has had on all of our lives, just upending everything in life as we've known it. And for people who have substance use disorders or people who have other mental health conditions, the impact of COVID-19 has been devastating.
