We have been very successful in advancing the work of next-generation NCLEX, and Phil has already provided you information on that and indeed some of the exciting work that we'll be doing in the years ahead. It's been work that has required us to reach out to the recipients of our service, i.e. the candidates and get them to be part of this journey as well, answering the research section which as Phil indicated has been overwhelmingly successful in getting information that we need to make sure that our next-generation NCLEX test is as robust, reliable, valid and legally defensible as our existing version.

They're just basic indications that we're coming in peace and we have some stuff that you might like and we know you got stuff we would like. They built a fortification, they called Fort Clatsop. This is a modern replica of it built by the National Park Service. It is not on the site of Fort Clatsop, the original one. Why not? Nobody knows where it is, okay? There's no archeological evidence that's found it. Part of the issue is this is a very humid environment and wood will rot away pretty quickly. And any nails that were used or hinges, probably weren't any hinges, but any nails that were used, the native peoples would have come and pried it open and taken that metal.

To make comparisons between the innovative and paired text- based items, the cognitive ratings were converted to numbers using the following scale: remember = 1, under- stand = 2, apply = 3, analyze = 4, evaluate = 5, and create = 6. Items coded as G and NB were considered missing. In general, only slightly more cognitive processing was used by participants to answer the innovative items as com- pared with the paired text-based items. There were 26 inno- vative items that had slightly higher cognitive ratings and 8 innovative items with substantially higher cognitive ratings (0.5 or greater). There were 16 innovative items developed specifically to determine if the format requiredmore cognitive processing than a paired text-based, multiple-choice item.

So we have clinical nurse specialists, we have midwives, we have nurse practitioners, and then the certified registered nurse anesthetists make up the fourth group. They operate, if you will, or practice their craft in various organizations, and mostly in urban, we'll talk about that. But they can go into rural areas as locum tenens, or to service critical access hospital, rural hospitals. I'm going to reference my colleague who just presented, Dr. Trinkoff, and her wonderful study that gave us some really important data on substance use problems, and substance use disorders. So I kind of cherry-picked what I thought was important for this audience in that overall nurses have about a 6.6% SUD.
