So, right off the bat, this sets a good baseline understanding of comparable year-to-year of patient safety. With baseline patient safety confirmed, we now turn our attention to the survey results themselves. The overall survey response rate was approximately 14%, with a total of 17,000 APRN respondents located across 26 states. The subsample for this three-state analysis consisted of 1,212 APRN respondents. On average, respondents were 50 years old and predominantly female and white non-Hispanic. Ninety- two percent indicated they were actively engaged in direct patient care.

The reason for these changes was to comply with the North Carolina dental case, and we wanted to recommend codification of an affirmative statement of the need that the majority of the members be licensees. Continuing on with membership, we reviewed literature regarding term limits, and Board Governance best practices. We did not believe there was evidence to recommend specific numbers of consecutive terms or consecutive years of service. So we kept those as open carrots for Board of Nursing to individually decide what was right for their board. We also did not have a recommendation, whether term limits or consecutive years of service limitations should be considered, which is why the entire section is left in open carrots.

So, when you look at all of those recommendations, the 200-node, they really fall into a number of buckets, regulation, education, the need for investment, the issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, both within the profession, but also within service delivery. Terms and conditions, how we reward and recognize, and what nurses can do, leadership, and technology. So, you can just imagine, there's this big chart with all of the stuff on the chart, and very detailed kind of breaking out all of the recommendations.
