The RN diploma, LPN/VN associate and other programs constituted a small percentage of the sample. Urban (40%), suburban (22.3%) and rural (37.8%) education programs were well represented in the sample. The majority of the respondents (84.1% RN programs and 83.7% LPN/VN programs) who com- pleted the program surveys were heads or associate heads of the programs. On average, these admin- istrators have been in their positions for about 6 years and have been in nursing education for about 21 years for RN programs and 16 years for LPN/VN programs.

BONs will not require a separate report from the programs, but instead will review the accreditors’ annual and site visit reports. Rationale: There is duplication between BONs and accreditors’ annual and approval reports, creating more work for faculty and BONs. 3. NCSBN will support the BON in this endeavor: The Nursing Education Committee will establish, for BONs, best practices for assisting nonaccredited programs with becoming accredited.

Rhode Island Enacts Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) | NCSBN
Site: ncsbn.org
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. A multistate license facilitates cross-border practice for many types of nurses who routinely practice with patients in other states, including primary care nurses, case managers, transport nurses, school and hospice nurses and many others.
