Oftentimes, fraudulent documents have been uncovered simply on the basis of irregularities found in the size and feel of the paper. For example, 8.5 x 11 paper is not typically used in Europe 1 Neff, D. F. & Harman, J. (2013). Foreign-Educated Nurses: Effects on Nurse, Quality of Care, and Patient-Safety-Indicator Outcomes. Journal of Nursing Regulation 4 (10): 19-24. 18 | ©2015 NCSBN from the Resource Manual on the Licensure of Foreign-educated Nurses (or in most countries outside North America, for that matter). When credentials from this region have been presented in this format, and other such irregularities are found, evaluators follow up by contacting the educational or nursing authorities for verification.

Lavonia, I'd like to begin with you. I'm going to quote you some of the data that I just talked about. One hundred thousand RNs have left the workforce due to COVID-19. Potentially, another 800,000 RNs plan on leaving the workforce in the next 5 years. A large percentage of them say this is due to understaffing and, in fact, unsafe staffing, where not only they are overworked, they feel their patients are at risk.

We were kind of, you know, left in the cold wastelands of virtual meetings and presentations, and so, I'm just really excited and I'm energized by the opportunity to really get to engage with you in person. But I am here today to discuss the results of one of our recently completed COVID-19 studies entitled, "Assessing the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Pre-Licensure Nursing Education." The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. It provides a comprehensive overview of the activities, achievements and financial performance of the Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators (ICNLCA) throughout the report period. It also comprises a snapshot of recent accomplishments and a preview of NLC Commission goals in fiscal year 2022 (FY22). The ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated firsthand the importance of the NLC as the solution for modernizing licensure of nurses. The NLC allows for greater nurse mobility, public protection and access to care. It enables nurses to provide telehealth nursing services to patients located in other NLC states without having to obtain additional licenses.

Completion of a declaration of primary state of residence is required of an applicant for a multistate license. The applicant must complete this form as required by statute. 6. Billy Jo is a resident of one of the five new eNLC states which joined the eNLC on Jan 19, 2018. On that date she applies for and having met the eNLC ULRs, is issued an eNLC multistate license. She also holds licenses in three other eNLC states that were in the original NLC. Should the three states that were in the original NLC, respectively, now make her licenses inactive?
