The NCLEX Test Plan guides the development of the NCLEX items and links nursing activities outlined in the practice analysis to specific NCLEX exam content. To review the NCLEX practice analysis and test plans, please visit the links above or visit the NCLEX section of the ncsbn.org website. The test plans can be found under the Test Plan tab. And the practice analysis, an addition to statistical data can be found under the Exam Statistics and Publications tab. You are always welcome to email NCLEX content for specific questions related to nursing content.

The NEC helps to provide item disposition and also reviews and approves NCLEX items before they can become operational or scored on the exam. Additionally, the NEC establishes and maintains NCLEX policies for the exam to remain current, entry-level, comprehensive of nursing practice, and safe for the public. For additional information on item writing and item review, please visit our NCLEX webinar series available on the website. If you or your colleagues are interested in becoming a volunteer for our item development opportunities, you can also visit our website to sign up.
