She encouraged me to open the lines of communication and begin to break down the walls of the regulator. She gently reminded me to keep the board's mission always in my forefront. My mentor truly knows all the ins and outs. Thanks to NCSBN and the education consultant program, I was also allowed to shadow a site visit with my mentor. This came at a most opportune time as I was gearing up to do my first site visit in Wyoming just two months after shadowing. My mentor could have done the bare minimum, but once you've met her, you understand quickly that's not what she does.
