    And those organizations have to do 25% of their CE interprofessionally but they can also do 75% single profession under one accreditation. So, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy started that, we've now added four more professions, optometrist, social work, psychology, and the PAs. So, if you're jointly accredited, you can offer seven different types of CE credit under one accreditation. And that was a result of this kind of a report that says, "You all need to step up to the table," and you know, that was part of what we did.

    Known as a visionary leader with a commitment to regulatory excellence and public protection, Meyer served as executive director of the Washington State Board of Nursing (WBON) for 25 years. She retired in June of 2023 and was honored with the Meritorious Service Award two months later at NCSBN’s 2023 Annual Meeting. She also received a 25-Year Executive Officer Recognition Award. “To stand up there to receive that award, to see all the people that I’ve worked with over the years, it’s humbling,” says Meyer.

    Divided into two phases, the study will establish both internal (registered nurses [RNs] in hospital settings) and external (RNs and licensed practical/vocational nurses [LPN/VNs] in non-hospital settings) validity. There are 113 hospi- tals in Illinois, Ohio and North Carolina participating in Phase I as either a control or intervention site. Newly licensed nurses at intervention sites will com- plete five online modules, work one-on-one with a trained preceptor and receive institutional sup- port from their facility. Newly licensed nurses at control sites will take part in the facility’s existing on-boarding strategy.
