Data from chemically dependent nurses as well as case histories of discipline cases, will be collected from NCSBN jurisdictions with alternative programs and from those without such programs. Data from boards of nursing and alternative-to-discipline programs will also be used for data analysis. The results of this study will be valuable for boards to identify best practices in regulation. While Smiley’s recent webinar covering these topics was offered as NCSBN members-only, the good news for educators is that his eight-week course on Questionnaire Design is open to all educators through the NCSBN International Center for Regulatory Scholarship (ICRS).
