For instance, a majority of states require that nurses complete continuing education ©2015 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 2 credits, including specific coursework in some cases, before they can renew their licenses. The consequences of not renewing your license can vary from a fine, to other types of discipline. And despite receiving a bunch of support, as well as a bunch of opposition that we also saw, the unions were successful in blocking the bill's progress. In fact, actually, the union opposition in the state has been blocked for the NLC for many years now, and with the main two being SEIU Local 1107, which is the largest health care and public service union in Illinois, and then NNU advocates as well. If it's not an address that is connected with the institution where they're employed at, if it's a Yahoo address, a Gmail account, AOL, I would question that. They, students, from my experience, have made up preceptors. They've made up clinical sites on the web and made a, you know, a site that you could go to and it looks like a hospital site. And looks like these are valid people. And they're not. So be cautious of emails that you're given for your preceptors. - It was a bad outcome that caught you onto this, would there have been anything else before that that might have been a red flag or a trigger that something was wrong?
