    They have served on the NCSBN Board of Directors as representatives and in leadership positions. Kansas Board members and staff have also been involved with numerous NCSBN meetings, committees, knowledge networks, and task forces. The Kansas Board of Nursing was the first to implement real-time online license renewals in the year 2001, and for their progressive actions received the Centers for Digital Government National Award. The Board shared best practices and lessons learned from creating their automated nurse licensure information system with NCSBN during the development of Nursys e-Notify.
