And of those 276, 61 are in the process of enrolling or completing KSTAR, and we had a total of 189 nurses successfully complete KSTAR, and of those 26 nurses were referred back to the Board for unsuccessful completion, 26 of the 276. And then there have been 8 nurses of the 284 ratified orders who, for whatever reason, failed to enroll in the program as required by the order within 45 days of order ratification.

Martin comments, “For them, pay isn’t just about making ends meet it is also a signal of respect and recognition.” The rise in the median age for nurses is a good news/bad news scenario. The U.S. population is aging with longer life expectancy than in the past, however advanced age goes hand in hand with greater acuity of illnesses and the need for skilled care.
