    In that earlier proceeding, the defendant evaluator had claimed that there was no personal jurisdiction over the Nurse's claims against him, and he also had quasi-judicial immunity. In the opinion and the order of the Court in 2016, the Court held that the defendant evaluator could not be sued in federal court for the evaluation he performed for the Board as he was both never properly served with a summons and amended complaint. Consequently, the Court did lack personal jurisdiction over him. Alternatively, in accordance with Supreme Court precedent, the evaluator was entitled to absolute immunity, based on his serving in a quasi-judicial role for all matters arising from his evaluation of the plaintiff for the board.

During this time of crisis, nurse regulators have played a central role in offering accurate data, evidence and suggestions for legislative change that are helping to care for those affected by the pandemic. Many of these changes provide solutions that should be sustained in the longer term. For years evidence has demonstrated that nurses need to be enabled to work to their full scope of practice.

    And the expiration date is either when the national certification expires or when the RN license expires, whichever is first. This is because an APRN must have either an active RN license or an active RN multi-state license to obtain and retain APRN recognition. We quickly realized the power of Nursys and wanted to leverage this system for better customer service. We worked with the Nursys team and our association to host webinars focused on Nursys e-Notify.     We often misinterpreted victims' reactions to trauma, which discouraged victims for participating in the criminal justice system and resulted in offenders not being held accountable for their crimes. Much like we are more informed today about police officer trauma following critical incidents, research and experience informs us that we need to educate ourselves on the science behind sexual assault victims' reactions to trauma.
