    The pandemic brought nurses to the forefront of the world's attention because of their invaluable and irreplaceable position on the front lines of COVID-19. Throughout 2020 and 2021, NCSBN both led and was an active participant in a number of pandemic-related initiatives designed to increase access to NCLEX examination administration, reduce regulatory barriers for providers, open clinical experiences for nursing students, and offer direction on the administration of COVID-19 vaccines. Even in the midst of the pandemic, vital regulatory work continued. NCSBN was a significant contributor to the State of the World's Nursing 2020 Report, offering a regulatory perspective and providing accurate data, evidence and suggestions for a legislative change.

    The Committee also met with the auditors in executive session. RSM issued an unqualified opinion on the financial statements.     She was claiming that she was protected by this federal statute that is essentially like a whistleblower protection that says that nurses can't be sanctioned for reporting abuse. And the court explained that, first of all, that's for the feds to criminally prosecute. It's not a private right of action and it's also not applicable because it just was not the facts. And again, you know, she wasn't cited by anybody for filing the report.
