It is not designed to assess work performance. This is a common misunderstanding and it is important that we understand the difference between fitness for practice which is the job of the licensing exam, fitness for academic award which is the role of the educational institutions delivered through formative and summative assessment and fitness for purpose the responsibility of the employer who addressed this through induction, orientation and ongoing learning specific to the role to which the nurse is appointed.

Nursys has three different services available to both individuals and institutions. Nursys QuickConfirm, which allows anyone to look up a nurse from any participating Board of Nursing and access licensure and discipline information. Nursys license verification for endorsement is a fee-based service for requesting secure electronic verification of licensure between U.S. boards of nursing. It's used when applying for licensure in any state, including when a nurse moves from one Compact state to another. And Nursys e-Notify, a service where institutions and individual nurses can sign up to get free licensure notifications from participating boards.

We wouldn't have known…we might not have been able to figure out the scheme. Meds, again, I'm looking at all meds transaction types. I want to see all transaction types and this is actually really important because you don't want to accidentally miss waste or accidentally miss cancel or something like that. I just asked for all, it might be too much. You can filter it out later, but I'd much rather have everything. And then the users, obviously, we're going to ask for the user of interest. So if we're looking for, you know, Susie Smith, we're going to ask for that particular person.

He'd like to hire a nurse who's moving from Virginia, a Compact state. The nurse will notify the Virginia Board of Nursing of her new address and apply for licensure in California. Because she is changing her PSOR, her multistate license issued by Virginia will be changed to a single- state license. So, she will no longer have the privilege to practice in all Compact states unless she applies for individual single-state licenses.

The length of time required to resolve a complaint depends on the seriousness, complexity, the level of investigation required and whether it goes through informal or formal proceedings. Each case is unique and needs to be considered on its own merits. 7. Is there a time limit for filing a complaint? Most states do not have a time limit for filing complaints. However, complaints that involve situations distant in time may be given less priority. 8. Will my complaint remain confidential? The states vary as to requirements for confidentiality.

She doesn't want to do that because in her mind, she has passed. We also told her, "Well, you can simply not do anything at all. You're going to exceed your time frame in which to test for us and then you won't be able to take the NCLEX anymore for Texas. You'll have to go to another state to try to test for them," because she only has a four-year window, since she's never practiced. She only has a four-year window for that. She doesn't want to do that either.

But then she made a application in Oregon, and she failed to disclose those arrests. She was a non-responder in Oregon. She was denied in Oregon. So, the question to you. as the primary state of residence, is once she got denied in Oregon, do you open up another case? She was denied for a case that was already adjudicated, if you will, already heard by the board and went into treatment for. Is that something that your home state would then open another complaint on? Well, actually, we did. And the reason isn't for the behavior because we knew about the behavior, it was for not disclosing the arrest on her board application.
