When you think about the number of nurse leaders in this room who have an absolute unique focus on public protection, it is an amazing moment. And, you know, I want to take the first few minutes, and I'm not sure where she's at, she's way over there, but I want to talk just a little bit on what Phyllis said this morning. Phyllis, wow, the energy you showed was absolutely amazing. The way you talked about us being united, the lifting up, the making each other better. Phyllis, I don't know if you caught it. That is the very heart and the very essence of One NCSBN. That is really what it's all about.

Nobody is going, "Wow, I'm shocked." Now I don't know where lawyers fit in. Thankfully, we had the ballast at the bottom of the curve of the lobbyists and the politicians. So as you heard, I teach Evidence at a law school in Canada and we have to…it's a big class so we have to grade on the curve and I think lawyers benefited from the curve in this case.

- I would like to add about the mutual support groups as well. We definitely are looking at that because we had a lot of our nurses say we like the mutual support groups. And they were able to attend ones in different states in different countries and really broaden them a lot. Like, wow. You know, I was in my own little tunnel vision of, you know, my own little meeting, my own little people. It really broadened them. So I think moving forward at IPN, we will do more of a hybrid. It won't be a absolutely no, you cannot do virtual because a lot of our nurses are still doing virtual individual therapy.

Therefore, it is essential that screening be universal. • Routine screening should rely on validated screening tools, such as questionnaires, including 4Ps, NIDA Quick Screen, and CRAFFT (for women 26 years or younger). • For chronic pain, practice goals include strategies to avoid or minimize the use of opioids for pain man- agement, highlighting alternative pain therapies such as nonpharmacologic (eg, exercise, physical therapy, behavioral approaches), and nonopioid pharmaco- logic treatments.
