Over the course of the last 16 months, we met many, many times for two-hour Zoom meetings, they were incredibly productive and a lot of the members joined on a regular basis. We very rarely had people that were unable to attend which from 19 organizations is pretty phenomenal.

And so all in all, we were able to evaluate NPs and patients in their practices across just over 450 primary care practices. We had the survey results of just over 500 nurse practitioners. We took the claims data of over 111,000 CAD patients, of which 94% were White and 6% were Black. We used multivariate regression models and we used some additional analytic processes to see if the practice environment influenced the odds of screening more in Black or White patients, given the practice environments where they were cared for.

The study took into account the criminal justice cost, property loss or damage, lost work productivity, the short and long-term physical and mental health treatment of the victims, and calculated that the lifetime cost per victim was about $123,000. Over 25 million Americans will experience rape during their lifetime. And the vast majority of those are women, as you can see here by this slide. These overwhelming majorities also run true in other nations as well. According to the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network, 7 out of 10 sexual assaults are committed by someone known to the victim.

Elliot highlighted a number of points from his report – likely activity in the lame duck session; a look forward to see the implications of the transition; the outstanding VA APRN rule that is still with the Office of Management and Budget although the 90-day period is now over; working with DOE to manage ITT transition of student into new program - one webinar has been already been successfully hosted and a second is planned for early January. Elliot also drew attention to the nominee for HHS secretary, his support for state based licensure but his belief that APRNs need medical supervision.

The graph has been scaled by the standard error of item estimates to allow direct comparison of item difficulty changes. Note that there are many items with 20,000 to 60,000 cumulative exposures whose item difficulties have not changed dramatically. There are also over 110 items that have been administered over 50,000 times per item across a period of over 14 testing quarters without any noticeable change in item difficulty. This does not mean that increased item exposures do not impact item difficulty. Earlier data presented in the paper seems to suggest that increased item exposure does have an effect on item difficulty in general.

As I said, almost all the survey respondents were satisfied or extremely satisfied with obtaining their DNP degree. DNP graduates add value throughout. There was no question that the DNP graduates added value to practice. Racial and ethnic gender diversity. ©2023 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 7 As I said, that was increased. The racial and ethnic diversity increased, but also males increased from 9% to 14% over that time frame. Increases in the number of DNP programs and students have occurred in both the BSN-to-DNP and MSN-to-DNP tracks.

In many jurisdictions, APRNs are required to maintain an official relationship with a physician in order to practice. Removal of the mandatory connection to any other profession will decrease barriers to provision of care. Numerous studies published over the past 30 years have shown that APRNs provide safe, high quality care, often to underserved areas throughout the U.S. Independent APRN practice will increase access to care for all consumers. The (board of nursing) and NCSBN respectfully request (insert name of organization)’s consideration of these proposed changes to the regulations of APRNs and request your endorsement of the Consensus Model for APRN Regulation.

Although the nominee worked with a team of lobbyists for other statewide associations, the nominee’s clear leadership in working the bill through its committee stops and on the floor was instrumental in its final passage. The 2017 legislative session again brought significant accomplishments in the realm of nursing regulation. Again, they were due in large part to the nominee’s leadership and assistance. BON authority over pre-licensure nursing education programs was significantly curtailed by legislation in 2009 and 2010. The Legislature, recognizing that the BON now needed part of that authority reinstated, approved such legislation that went into effect in June 2017.
