Beginning with the launch of the exam in January of 2022, the test plan outlined the scoring methodology that would take place. This scoring model consisted of the traditional dichotomous approach, scoring all items as either right or wrong. As the nurse regulators in British Columbia and Ontario continually strive for improvement and excellence, an exciting project is on the horizon. Beginning in January of 2026, partial credit scoring will be added to the existing dichotomous scoring. This is indeed exciting news. This scoring approach is associated with several added benefits.

And the reason tolerance occurs is because that feedback loop in our brains, in our guts, in our skin, in our respiratory system essentially kind of become desensitized and the cells then start to produce fewer receptors. So that feedback loop kind of tries to bring things back to some level of kind of normalcy. And what that means is that the bad news for people who need more opioids for pain relief, for example, might need a higher dose to get the same level of pain relief, but the good news is that the person actually may be less sleepy on their medication. So they develop tolerance to kind of the sedating effects.

So these options are available, and we are always looking for people to come. And it's a great learning session and opportunity for an educator to do this. - That's great news. And will the answers always involve two on one side, two on the other, and one in the middle?

Due to COVID disruptions, the RN test plan, which would normally be scheduled to go live April 1st, 2022, will, in fact, be delayed one year and go live April 1st, 2023. So, in fact, the RN and PN both will be scheduled to go live April 1st, 2023. So, breaking news from the NCLEX Conference. Okay. I have a question for Hong. Okay. I'm hearing a little noise. Let me pause for a second. Okay. Hong, the question concerning standard setting is why limit things to nine judges? Would more judges give us a more accurate result?

Assessing the Unidimensionality of the NCLEX-RN
Site: ncsbn.org
With a first factor that is this small, it is nearly impossible to argue that there is any noticeable structure at all. This is good news for NCLEX, but it does not make for a good example to illustrate the need to identify the difference between a real first factor and an artifact of the data. Here, the reader can dismiss the possibility of another dimension, without ever considering how much of the first factor is just an artifact of the data.
