Our Licensure department has work queues, our Discipline department has work queues. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 7 We set those up like we want. We set them up how they function best. So we have a work queue that renewals go to here for LPNs, renewals for RNs go here, applications for RNs go here. So that whoever works on those has a work queue that they look at, and they know what their workload is for today. But you and I both can work out of the same work queue, and simultaneously work on things.

Prior to March, the SRS was optional for RN candidates but did not appear at all for PN candidates. Since March, the SRS did not appear on either of the two exams. However, beginning October 1st, the SRS will be an optional section on both the RN and PN exam. This will allow NCSBN to continue our research on Next Generation NCLEX items and create the best exam we can for our upcoming NGN launch.

All rights reserved. 13 So we are facing an unprecedented challenges in maternity care right now in the United States. We have a shrinking provider workforce that includes both midwives and obstetricians. And if you think about it from an obstetrical standpoint, those physicians that are prepared to care for women, deliver babies, and do high-risk perinatal care, they are 22 years old, at least by the time they graduate from their bachelor's program. They're 26 from the time that they get out of a residency, that they get out of medical school, and 30 by the time they're graduating from their residency.

So these things might resonate a little more, I'd say, with Alaska and Canada, maybe Wyoming, than in Salt Lake City. Oh, okay, there we go. So pretend you're in Fairbanks, Alaska, and you want to test. Well, your closest test center is, in Fairbanks, good news, it's only 200 miles away, right? Well, that's rough. Pretend, for whatever reason, that Fairbanks isn't going to work out for you. Where is your next closest testing center? Oh, my goodness, it is literally 1,000 miles away or, since I have Canadians, I think 1,600 kilo, right?

In five, the charges were dropped because they either weren't getting evidence, or they realized it might have been a different person, a different nurse, or a different healthcare provider. One committed suicide awaiting trial, and two are now deemed mentally unfit to stand trial. And again, I sometimes wonder about how much of that is fabricating. And four are unknown. There just hasn't been enough in the literature or in the news to get an end result. Ten are waiting for their trial, and these have been since 2016. So, just so you get a flavor of where the countries are. Certainly, the United States has had the most, 42 prosecutions, 30 of those convicted, 3 are pending. Then we have Germany with the next most and England are in the double digits.
