The inquiries were from nurses throughout the United States as well as Canada and Europe. These data demonstrate a 33.33% increase over a six-month period, as the 26 inquiries received in September 2022 rose to 39 inquiries received in February 2023 (Ayars & Hooper, 2023). Based on multiple database searches, a scarcity of current literature about NRCs was located. However, authors of available NRC articles independently set forth that a nursing shortage emerging during the 1980s created interest for health care facilities in recruiting non-practicing nurses back into practice to meet staffing needs.

And to create a better tomorrow, we've got to learn from others and we've got to work together. So over the next 20 minutes or so, I'm going to give us some insights into where we might look for additional contributions in terms of how we expand our thinking. So, in the past, I have often cited American presidents. And being in the land of Lincoln, I thought I would visit some of the works that Lincoln had said. I've lent on work from Kennedy and Reagan.

The Committee agreed to strive for diversity from the membership with at least three candidates for each position. The Committee also requested assistance from the Area Directors for recruitment from their specific areas. The committee discussed at length, the 2001 Delegate Assembly resolution that read, “The 2001 Delegate Assembly directs the members of the Nominating Committee to make every possible effort to present a slate of candidates that includes several public member candidates for the officer and director positions.”

And that's an impediment. - And, you know, I want to talk about too, when we talk about at the state level licensure, 39 states, and we're on the verge of 40, have passed the nurse licensure compact. And surely that has to be of assistance to you with having facilities across 26 states. The Nurse Licensure Compact allows a nurse to care for patients. Either telephonically, digitally, or physically on one license, one multistate license, instead of having to get multiple licenses in every one of those states. And in this day and age, more and more patients are seeking care across a state line.
