They find this incredibly confusing and, honestly, as a fellow certificant, I understand and agree with that. We are moving to a repeated four year cycle with the same requirements in each cycle that an individual goes through. So what we are going to have is 60 credits, much like the current program, the 40 class B credits, again, like the current program, and individuals will have to meaningfully -- we have a definition, meaningful participation over a 4-year period. So we are transitioning from the current traditional assessment of continued professional certification assessment to using longitudinal assessment in terms of measuring knowledge of CRNAs who desire to have continued certification.

Note that the high percentage for restrictive states was about equal to the low percentage for states that did not require oversight. Our states were West Virginia, New Mexico, Michigan, and Ohio. In each state, we had teams of two to four researchers conduct the site visits. We were lucky and we finished our site visit to New Mexico in February 2020. If we'd been a month later, we might not have been able to finish the work. We recruited potential interviewees by reaching out to known contacts including APRN practitioners, behavioral health clinics, opioid treatment clinics, nursing leadership organizations, and nursing program faculty.

And the evidence for that particular criterium would be that they would define who their community of interest is and show clearly how the information from the community inference is included in the governance and how they provide input, and this input is used to make changes and to have quality assurance and quality improvement through the programs. Another example, we heard a lot during the discussions over the past 16 months of faculty having time to do teaching service and scholarship. So one of the policies would be that the institution has policies and expectations for faculty, consistent with other faculty that are in the academic institution to have time, allotted time for teaching service and scholarship.

Next, we excluded individuals for whom we were able to identify that they had a surgery to help us better understand what is happening with initiations in primary care. And we see that the percent of initiations from general surgery providers drops significantly, with larger shares going now to primary care specialties. And when we focus on primary care alone, we see that both PAs and NPs contribute to initiations less than physicians, which in itself isn't surprising because there are fewer NPs and PAs than primary care physicians. Next, we take a deeper dive into the different specialties just within NPs, as well as begin looking at our prescribing measures of interests.

When in use, the professor’s face is displayed on the robot’s monitor. The robot is linked to the Internet by a broadband connection. A camera serves as the eyes to capture images of the students that are then transmitted to the professor. All the professor needs at the remote site is a laptop computer and self-contained software package from InTouch Health. The RP-7 will be used in a year-long pilot project to determine how it enhances the teaching environment. It will allow the professor to move, see, hear and talk as though he/she was actually onsite interacting with the students.
