. ⦁⦁ Discuss the relationship between ADPs and BONs. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (2008) reports that only 14% of Americans addicted to alcohol and drugs seek treatment for their addictions. Substance use disorder (SUD) has been con- sidered a treatable disease by the American health care system for many years, but the concept of SUD as a treatable disease in health care providers has not always been widely accepted. In the past, nurses and doctors were denied the nonpunitive approach offered to the patients they served.

If the board opens a formal investigation, the matter is assigned to an investigator and given a priority level, which is largely based on the risk of harm to the public. Lower-priority investigations often have longer deadlines to close, but this may not be ideal for the APRN under investigation. I suggest working cooperatively with the assigned investigator to see if you can constructively help to get the investigator what he or she needs to complete the investigation. During the formal investigation, the APRN has due process rights and also obligations to the board.

The X axis represents the quarterly data spanning from the third quarter of 2022 to the second quarter of 2025. The red dotted line demarcates the change of the exam to incorporate both partial credit scoring and clinical judgment, which happened in Q2 of 2023. The Y axis provides information about the standard error of measurement of the exam results. The lower the values, the better the results, and therefore greater precision. The box and whiskers represent the different exam series of the USRN, USPN, and the Canadian RN, denoted here as RN1.

Conclusion In a world where advanced technology is widely available and creative methods of cheating abound, there is great temptation to gain a competitive advantage in high-stakes testing through illegitimate means. In this environment, testing programs must continue to implement and improve their security plans. The need to maintain test integrity con- tinues to drive sound operational procedures and innovative security enhancements. Security risk management should continuously evolve through an established culture of securi- ty awareness and immediate responses. In addition to reviewing test development and administrations procedures, testing programs should include regular monitoring of social media or other open-source networks when planning securi- ty procedures.
