Really appreciate and thank the board for their commitment to this work and for their mission-focused contributions to the work of NCSBN, for taking seriously the charge of overseeing implementation of policy and directing the activities of NCSBN in keeping with the articles of incorporation, bylaws, policies, and the NCSBN mission. Also, my appreciation to those members who have previously served on the Board of Directors, and for the past presidents, your service and leadership has helped shape where we are today. As has been the case since the inception of this organization, the work of the Board could not go on without the high level of support, expertise, professionalism, and competence of the NCSBN staff.

Payment system that's more supportive obviously giving people more time. And even I'm afraid this will be my one critique of the report, Mark, I think is think of all the people that drank this Kool-Aid about how managed care and ACOs are going to... you know and getting rid of Fee for Service, that these are the answers. But I don't think that's really exactly the way to go, and I think we're learning that lesson the hard way a little bit with Obamacare. And then of course, for us researchers, but really to make progress, the amount of funding for this is miniscule.

The ones presented here are actually demographic and practice characteristics, the Nurse Practitioner Organizational Climate Questionnaire, and nurse practitioner reports, what they're saying about the quality of care in their hospitals. And, of course, we used the typical descriptive and inferential statistics to examine these nurse practitioners by practice site. We found that we had survey responses from 1,263 acute care nurse practitioners and 2,343 primary care nurse practitioners. We did see a significant difference in age, the acute care nurses had a tendency to be a bit younger, on average, 47.9 years of age, where primary care nurse practitioners were 50 years of age.

And so, what this bill does is it creates that legal requirement. After this bill was passed, we received a phone call from Senator Barrasso of Wyoming asking if we would consider working with his office to create similar legislation as it relates to the Indian Health Service. And so, we've been in the process of going through different legislation wording and working on getting this bill with the goal that it will be introduced this summer.
