So actually glucose tablets are considered a comfort aid, so that would not require a testing accommodation. Things such as a crutch, or a Kleenex, or a cushion, candidates are allowed to test with these comfort aids without having to request an accommodation. The comfort aids' list can be found on Pearson VUE's website. So candidates can access that if they have any doubt of what can or cannot be brought into the testing room. All TAs will do, or test administrators will do is verify and visually inspect the item before it is brought in to the testing room. But no accommodation is required for a comfort aid. - Fantastic.

And these are the types of exclusions that are part of that. Okay. So, the more you want to know about Safe Harbor, go to our website. We have more information than you'd ever want to know. It'll blur your eyes trying to figure out whether or not your facility has enough nurses, whether they're going to...you know, who's got the voting rights and who doesn't have the voting rights, and whether the particulars of the procedural due process were met whenever a Safe Harbor Peer Review request was made.

So education and communication are key roles to play with our new NPs coming out, especially if they are going to enter into novice innovation such as IV hydration or other new techniques coming out. We have a lot of nurses coming out that want to do things, we have the decision tree we have them utilize on our website, and if we run into the problem with the decision tree model, where they can't advance and notify the board of nursing. I think it is key that we educate our young nurses or new NPs coming out in general about what they can and cannot do, and define what that scope of practice is for them.

The CPCA focus on clinical knowledge required of experienced CRNAs, knowledge that was common for all CRNAs regardless of practice focus. I used to say, CRNAs don't necessarily always provide cardiovascular anesthesia for open-heart cases or valve replacements, but every patient has a heart, so an interest in cardiac physiology was essential. This outline is available on our website and is developed using professional practice analysis methodology. The CPCA was not a mechanism whereby individuals would lose their certification. If they fell below and establish performance benchmarking, we requested them to take additional focused CE, one for each category.
