If you would, take a moment with me to salute all of our frontline healthcare workers. Our nurses took an oath to serve their patients. Some have lost their lives to COVID, hundreds have recovered from COVID. Even with the risk, millions of our nurses and other healthcare workers continue to show up for the call of duty. For your service, we salute you. Mississippi Board of Nursing's Pandemic Journey. This slide provides a high overview of Mississippi's pandemic journey. The incident occurred on March 17, 2020. Marketing developed ads that were of all shapes and sizes and could be put on social media, could be put on the internet, on news sites, etc., highlighting that 90% number. And then we created a state-specific grassroots page where Massachusetts nurses or members of the public or whomever, any grassroots supporters could go to nursecompact.com/ma. It was a site that we could put state-specific info into. It didn't look national in nature. And they were able to send a tailored to Massachusetts grassroots letter to their lawmakers, again once we hit play on all of that part of the plan. So January through March, we had our communications plan in action.

. - I think that's a really good point and all it takes is one really ticked off patient who thinks that their information has been improperly disseminated and that can really blow up in your face. I think that's a great point. I talked about before maybe getting a Gmail account that's just for your board information. Maybe that's not good enough if you're receiving that stuff. One of the things we do is we do have a remote access site for documents. So we will communicate with the board via email but if we have packets and we have records we want them to review, what we'll do is we'll put it up on this secure site and then they access it that way so we're not sending it through email but I think that's a great point.

So there's no compensation for a person would be English as a second language, a third language individual. - Okay. Fantastic. [inaudible] that I think I'll assign to myself, but, Latrice, you can feel free to add on is just when will item-writers be brought in again? And so I'm going to interpret that two ways. If the question is when will we have on-site panels here in Chicago again, the truth is we just don't know. I think we really just need to see the trajectory of the pandemic and figure out when things are very, very safe. So we have no immediate plans to restore the on-site at any rate. Once we know, we'll put that word out there.

All rights reserved. 8 going to be true of this next momentous occasion and journey that the council and the Boards of Nursing take together as a "we," not a single entity. So I welcome that, and really, and encourage stay engaged with us. We'll create messaging. We don't have that yet. This is the first I've introduced it, but we will create a way to have a site for you to keep up with what we're doing, what the...where you can put input. And with that, there are no other questions. I am going to close, and thank you for your time. It has been an honor, and again, always enjoy spending time with you. So with that, take care and have a great conference.

This travel places these nurses outside the scope of hospital security. For this reason, it is important to not only provide training and education to empower nurses, but also improve the security protocol outside the hospital. Whether that is sending more nurses to a site, so they are not alone, or having security personnel that can accompany nurses on these visits. • Encourage reporting. We know that only a fraction of workplace violence incidents are reported, with even less reporting from students. For every incident reported, there are many more that are not.

Nurse Smyth is an experienced labor and delivery nurse who mostly works nights. Last year Nurse Smyth was chosen by colleagues to be “Nurse of the Year” based upon exceptional survey results from patents and service to the hospital. She is your trusted “go-to” staff member on nights and an effective preceptor. SCENARIO 1 You receive a report from a charge nurse that Nurse Smyth is becoming more difficult to approach regarding admissions and other assignments, which is a departure from her previous behavior.
