The psychometric performance of the NCLEX examinations using computerized adaptive testing (CAT) continued to be exemplary. • 1996 - In April, National Council’s public website was launched, offering resources including NCLEX examination information. • 1997 - NCLEX®, NCLEX-RN®, and NCLEX-PN® became registered trademarks of NCSBN®. o The Chauncey Group International was approved by the delegates as the NCLEX examination test service for October 1, 1999, through September 30, 2002.

    In effect, this allows us to draw inferences about the entire nursing workforce across the U.S. by reporting population weighted national estimates. Full details on our methods and approach are provided in the publication of the main study findings which are readily available and free for download on the Journal for nursing regulation website. At the close of the survey, approximately 27,000 of the successfully delivered RN surveys were returned yielding response rate of 17.8%. In addition, 23,000 of this gospel LPN surveys were returned resulting in a 15.2% response rate. There was a drop-off associated with our email based jurisdictions.

    IMSH happened last week. If you look at her work, she has a wonderful model for, how do we make this pedagogically sound? We make sure that it's learner centered, student centered, that you're measuring outcomes. She has lots of tools, INACSL has a whole beautiful website for measurement. And then, of course, a big piece of it is debriefing. And I will proudly say I am a proud mama because one of my doctoral students was Kristina Dreifuerst who is also on what I'm reporting out today.     Perceived barriers to educational innovations not only related to regulation were discussed, but also barriers set up by education systems, practice environments and the students them- selves. A vision for the future was presented, which focused on im- proved communication and forming partnerships between education, regulation and practice. The following day, March 26, 2008, NCSBN’s Faculty Qualifications Committee hosted a conference on the faculty shortage that attracted educators, practitioners and regulators from around the country, as well as internationally. At this meeting some ex- emplar innovations were presented, such as using simulation, piloting nurse faculty internship programs and using robots to extend nurse educators.
