The 2026 NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN test plans were approved at the NCSBN annual meeting in August of 2025. They will go into effect on April 1st of '26, and until then, the current test plans will remain in place. However, the test plan will be, the new test plan, excuse me, will be available on our website in December of 2025. As for changes, the overall structure and category weightings remain very stable.

From granting licensure, to creating a disciplinary case, ORBS Back Office grants the Board of Nursing the ability to fold formally separated processes, into one application. All Board of Nursing Staff are assigned roles and granted permissions, with regards, to what features of the system they will have access. For example, a customer service representative may not require the same access to the system as a license specialist.
