To make comparisons between the innovative and paired text- based items, the cognitive ratings were converted to numbers using the following scale: remember = 1, under- stand = 2, apply = 3, analyze = 4, evaluate = 5, and create = 6. Items coded as G and NB were considered missing. In general, only slightly more cognitive processing was used by participants to answer the innovative items as com- pared with the paired text-based items. There were 26 inno- vative items that had slightly higher cognitive ratings and 8 innovative items with substantially higher cognitive ratings (0.5 or greater). There were 16 innovative items developed specifically to determine if the format requiredmore cognitive processing than a paired text-based, multiple-choice item.

I'm going to have to move this, it's very awkward. Okay. All right, so the exam is fair because every candidate gets a chance to demonstrate their nursing knowledge through the exam. We make the information regarding the exam available in our test plans which is on the NCSBN website. The NCLEX exam measures minimum competency of entry level nurses. The test questions are focused on entry level practice. Entry level practice is different than a seasoned nurse because we know that nursing practice evolves with time and experience.

The change we made here was putting the entire section in carrots. The group did not believe there was evidence to mandate limitations on terms or years of service, and wanted the entire decision to be made by individual jurisdictions. Section 2. Officers 26. And we really want to thank the FSMB for partnering with the Lorna Breen Foundation, which is doing some amazing work in this space right now to track the progress. So, we're hoping that the same can be done for nursing and pharmacy. So, what we found, or what they found, is that 21 boards asked no questions about mental illness, which is the preference of the ADA. About 26 boards directly asked questions that seemed to be questionable or in direct violation of ADA standards. If you haven't read this paper yet, I highly recommend it, published in Nursing Outlook very recently. Judy was one of the primary contributors.
