Again, I think the advantages of being a multi-profession regulator has made things, like, for example, we've just released a joint statement supporting vaccination across all of those professions. Many of those documents that I'd refer to, that are on our website were multi-profession documents. So for example, the approaches that we took to, again, listening to the previous speaker talk about the changes in one state that they are making with respect to accreditation, we've been able to do that not just from...we've been able to do that from a national perspective, but also a multi-profession perspective.

The Board discussed the nursing education approval authority of Member Boards and competency based education programs. An update was provided to the Board regarding the proposed outcome study of Excelsior graduates. G.16. Discuss NCSBN – NLCA Relationship The Board reviewed and discussed the intent and possible outcome of the May 26-27, 2009 meeting with the NLCA Executive Committee. The Board agrees that the ultimate goal is to support a unified organization and effective implementation of the two licensure models. For most other workplace incidents, there were more limited gains or decreases observed. Overall, after using the AEDP tool for several months, approximately 7 in 10 respondents now indicated their facility would report a nurse whose employment was terminated due to their role in a serious adverse event.

Expert nurses are known for their efficient and intuitive decision-making processes, while novice nurses are known for more effortful and deliberate decision-making processes. Despite taking longer to make decisions, novices still have trouble with effective decision-making. The aim of this paper is to review the factors that contribute to clinical judgment and decision-making of novice nurses.
