But once again, you can pick up the phone or email, and we had the assistance that we needed. The other thing is that our licensure verification looked different. So employers and nurses were logging ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 3 on and seeing that different look, even though we announced it for months in advance, it took them by surprise. And we did work through that. We did have a few more phone calls than normal, but it wasn't overwhelming. I have to say, it's one of the smoothest transition go-lives I've ever been. - [Gail] All right.

I'll die doing pharmacology content, I've decided. And so, I'm okay with that. But in my CE profile, I take that assessment. I know I have to have 10 hours of pharmacology every renewal cycle and then I can have 10 hours of general CE, whatever I want to learn about. So, we now have 10 years, 3 years of data and in all of our areas and exam areas, there is significant decrease in the number of continuing education hours, certificatants need when their CE is targeted to the knowledge areas they're weakest in. And that kind of makes sense because, for me, if I could choose, I'm not going to take pharmacology hours.

Now, I realized that the nine of us in Little Rock were modeling law-abiding behavior. See prior to the ruling in Brown, the Board of Education Topeka, Kansas, we were operating under the aegis of a ©2019 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 3 Supreme Court decision that had been rendered in 1896. Plus AV Ferguson. The Plessy decision wasn't the start of the madness. It was simply a codification of stuff that had been going on for centuries. And yet, it stands out. if for no other reason than the language, the very heinous language that came out of that Plessy decision, which was we the people of these United States of America shall live our lives separate and apart from each other based on the dictum of separate but equal.

We also have other development activities that we will discuss a little bit later in this presentation. For maintenance, we do pool rotations so that's where items are being rotated out in the different pools. We ©2018 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 3 do ongoing item reviews, looking for different things like sensitivity, and we want to be sure that we keep the exam current with current nursing practice. In measurement, we have DIF and readability, DIF is Differential Item Functioning. We pretest items and we have CAT which is the Computerized Adaptive Testing and Hong is going to go into a little bit more detail when she gives her presentation on how do we measure the NCLEX.

I remember I was in New York City about 30 years ago at a conference, and there was a guy from Sydney, Australia, there and a guy from New York, and he said, "Well, the prevalence of HIV among injection drug users in New York City was 35% and in Sydney it was 3%." And he said, "Well, how comes there's a huge difference in HIV infections?" And he said, "Well, we just decided we wanted to treat addiction rather than HIV by providing sterile syringes and other kinds of harm reduction so they could prevent HIV infections in Sydney, Australia."

We have the basic demographic information, education, exam details, licensing, discipline, and, obviously, continuing pharmacy education. From a facility perspective, and this is probably one of the most major areas of growth for the association, at least from ©2019 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 3 a data standpoint, is beginning to collect the demographic information, what attributes that facility possesses, so are they a sterile compounding facility? You know, do they engage in other types of mail order practice across state lines? How is that pharmacy staffed?

MEDITECH, you can usually work with. There should be some from all scripts that are a little bit challenging sometimes. But in any case, this is something that I've added. So I actually went through for the particular patient and I found the order for the Tylenol 3 and I just typed this in. Okay? So in this case, the order was two tabs, parent pain, the pain score was supposed to be 7 to 10. Sometimes I do things short and it was a one-time order. Now, the reason that I put the one time is ©2019 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

So I'm the new guy and it said IT Security Audit, that sounds like it should be me, told by the folks at the North Carolina Board of Nursing including Tony, that, "We've got this," and they do, the ©2018 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 3 CBC side of things are good. But I looked at this pre-audit questionnaire, it's 14 pages long and there's an awful lot of IT stuff in there. So I figured I need to kind of buckle down and really look at this hard, I was told, "Don't worry, we've done these before, we'll be okay."

The client’s neighbor asks the nurse for information regarding the client’s treatment plan.
