    Lyon, PhD, MBA, APRN, NEA, executive director, Louisiana State Board of Nursing, was chosen as one of Louisiana’s Great 100 Nurses for the year 2015. An anonymous panel of nurses chooses each year’s honorees based on their concern for humanity, contributions to the nursing profession and service as a mentor or role model for others. Lyon’s nursing career spans 40 years and includes 30 years in management positions and 20 years in executive leadership. Lyon currently serves on the Finance Committee for NCSBN and the Audit Committee for the American Nurses Association.

    So I guess let's maybe start with Michelle, but how do you think that the technology that you were talking to us about it, how might that affect maybe rural areas where there are very few nursing education programs and really probably not the clinical site to support a program? So how can that be incorporated into maybe some future models that would enable us to have programs where we're not currently able to serve a population? - So I think that's one of the nice things about virtual reality, and it was particularly compelling listening to the talk this morning around the discussion of rolling out broadband.

    So candidates are asked, again, to bag all electronic devices during the entire testing appointment. So candidates will sign the candidate statement, agreeing to its terms and conditions. So it is NCSBN policy that candidates do not access any electronic devices throughout the appointment. Candidates, however, are provided with the Testing Center site information, including the site's telephone number, should the candidate have an urgent or emergency issue to arise, they can supply that telephone number. And in the event of...very rare events of urgent emergency issues, the landline at the test site can be used. - Thank you very much.

    Learn how licensed nurses can volunteer with NCSBN to support exam development through item writing, item review, and standard‑setting panels while earning CE credit. If approved NCSBN will notify you when you are considered for a specific panel.
